New car registrations in Britain dropped about 1% in February, preliminary industry data showed on Wednesday, primarily driven by a decline in fleet registrations.
The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders said battery electric vehicle sales constituted about a quarter of the market during the month.
SMMT will provide final figures for February at 0900 GMT.
