Jeep maker Stellantis is using technologies from automotive suppliers Blue Nexus, a Toyota-backed company, and Bosch to develop its new hybrid SUVs, CNBC reported on Tuesday.

Stellantis is using Blue Nexus’ two-motor electric continuously variable hybrid transmission system for its recently launched Jeep Cherokee, the brand’s first hybrid SUV in North America, and Bosch technology for its upcoming extended-range electric vehicles (EREV), the report said.

A spokesperson for Stellantis told Reuters Blue Nexus was a supplier for Jeep Cherokee and Bosch for the upcoming Grand Wagoneer EREV Jeep SUV, without providing further details.

Jeep’s Cherokee and Grand Wagoneer EREV are among Stellantis’ major launches this year in North America, as the automaker seeks to regain market share in what is historically its most profitable market.

Stellantis last month announced 22.2 billion euros ($25.8 billion) in charges as the automaker scaled back its EV ambitions and said it misjudged the switch to cleaner driving.

CEO Antonio Filosa, who will present the group’s new business plan on May 21, said in December the automaker was focusing on hybrid production in the U.S. market, a shift from his predecessor Carlos Tavares’ focus on fully-electric models.
